The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will assist the department Lead and Assistant Manager by performing the required maintenance and repairs on company heavy equipment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure that all equipment is safely and efficiently operating at optimum condition.


Assist the area Lead in maintaining company agricultural and construction equipment as required

Diagnose and troubleshoot needed repairs on heavy equipment

Work directly and cooperate with the department Supervisors and Managers to accomplish project goals.

Complete required equipment repairs

Maintains the cleanliness of job site and abides by all safety precautions

Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and inventory

Keep the area Lead informed of day to day production and maintain quality control of finished product.

Perform other duties as assigned

Able to work with minimal supervision
Able to communicate effectively in English
Basic mathematical skills
Able to apply common sense, understand and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form
Safety conscious, an eye for detail, and ability to plan, organize, and perform multiple tasks
Able to read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, and sketches
Able to properly plan, schedule, and estimate projects in advance
Knowledge of electronically controlled engines and transmissions
Knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing 12V and 24V electrical systems
Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems
High School Diploma or GED; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum two years previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Basic welding experience
Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record
Previous farm equipment repair experience a plus
Previous experience in “Total Process Reliability” (TPR) maintenance is a plus
Experience in repairs and maintenance of drive trains (i.e. transmission, differential, etc.) a plus
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Must be able to work in tight areas that require lifting and bending
Ability to climb up and down on large equipment
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Occasionally will be lifting up to 50 pounds

1st Shift (7am – 4:30pm), Monday through Friday, when business requires overtime and weekends will be mandatory
